Gathered in Old Town of Zhengding, the participants went through a collision of thoughts and an exchange of wisdom. In the afternoon of October 10, as one of the important activities of China International Digital Economy Expo 2019, the theme activity of digital economy--- "unicorn"----was held in Shijiazhuang (Zhengding) International Convention and Exhibition Center.

Under the theme of " ‘unicorn’ companies leading innovation”, a group of pioneering "unicorn" companies with modern vision and a group of leading enterprises which has done Internet transformation were gathered together to share their experience and understanding. They discussed that in this internet era, how unicorn companies can promote transformation and upgrading of traditional industries, and encourage the whole industry to be digitized so as to assist social and economic development.

In the era of digital economy, a number of "unicorn" companies have stepped into the center of China's economic, adding fresh impetus to China's economic development. "Unicorn" refers to an unlisted company with an evaluation of more than one billion US dollars. But they are no more than ten years old. In China, there are only more than 100 companies that meet the "unicorn" enterprise standard, and they are mainly in scientific and technological innovation enterprises.

Liu Bang, chairman of Shenzhen Dashi Intelligence Co., Ltd., said that "unicorn" companies are involved in new field such as artificial intelligence, big data, and cloud computing, so they play a leading and model role in breaking through new technologies, and promoting the innovation and development of other enterprises. As the investment in new technologies usually does not bring much profit in the short term, it is very difficult for ordinary enterprises to continue. However, through drawing social capital investment, if unicorn enterprises generate no profits or very few profits, they can still grow, make breakthroughs and succeed."

Any enterprise which will be successfully transformed and upgraded must break the bottleneck of thinking. And this is exactly how the unicorn companies achieve success. "In the process of starting a business, unicorn companies never stop exploring, innovating, reforming, going broke and reorganizing. They never stop breaking through its own limits." said Xu Shaochun, chairman and CEO of Kingdee International Software Group.

Nowadays, digital economy has become the focus of competition. In 2018, the aggregate of digital economy in Hebei Province reached 1 trillion yuan, accounting for more than 25% of GDP. Digital economy has become an important engine of economic growth and social development in Hebei Province. However, "unicorn" companies in Hebei Province has not been set up.

Hebei Province urgently needs to cultivate "unicorn" companies, but where to start? Liu Bang suggested, " Hebei Province must firmly grasp the opportunities of the coordinated development of Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei, the planning and construction of Xiong’An new area, and the preparation for holding the Beijing Winter Olympics."  Besides the opportunities, enterprises should also keep an inclusive mind and conduct more exchanges and cooperation with unicorn enterprises, so as to achieve rapid growth and development.

With positive policies and potential market, Hebei welcome the birth of Unicorn enterprises. "This time I came to Hebei, I saw a favorable environment for industries. I believe that there will appear many unicorn enterprises here.
