KE Electric has grown from an enterprise in the industrial park incubator to a listed company of Shanghai A-share main board market after only 17 years of development. And it has become one of the top 100 companies in electric industry in China. It has successfully contributed to many national projects, such as China FAST Power System, the New Government Building in Beijing, Electric Power Infrastructure Construction in Sansha City, South China Sea, Terminal 3 (T3) of Beijing New Airport. The marketing service network has spread all over the world, and the development speed is remarkable.

From Learning from others to making achievements, then becoming the leader of industry.

At the beginning, KE Electric was a technology-based enterprise which mainly produced single products of power equipment. Although the enterprise was booming at that time, Zhang chengsuo, chairman of the company, who always paid attention to the trend of the global industry, had realized the potential crisis: the single product structure would be eliminated by the market sooner or later, so it must have its own product system in order to achieve sustainable development.

In the follow-up stage (2003-2007), the strategy of "taking root" was implemented. By introducing outstanding talents and applying much technology into the products, KE Electric successfully developed KLD-6400 the electric energy remote terminal , starting the high level of collecting electric power. The first 10kV outdoor vacuum circuit breaker production line was built in Shijiazhuang, and ZW57-40.5, a kind of miniaturized vacuum circuit breaker was developed and put into operation.

In the parallel running stage (2008-2013) KE Electric carried out the "breakthrough" strategy. Eight advanced production lines were built one after another based on independent innovation, and KE-9200, the digital intelligent substation system was successfully developed. The second phase of smart grid project was successfully put into use, and the company won the bid in projects of State Grid and China Southern Power Grid successively, whose brand power and influence in the industry were further enhanced.

Since 2013, KE Electric, which has reached the leading level in China in terms of industrial scale, technical strength and market share, has begun to implement the strategy of "great-leap-forward" to make rapid progress towards the leader of the industry. At the same time, it put forward the concept of intelligent power and blue power grid and it has been in the lead in some key technologies in China.

At present, KE Electric has become one of the few electrical equipment enterprises with the whole industrial chain. It can provide complete solutions of primary and secondary power systems for the power industry, public utilities and large industry customers, forming three major business sectors: smart grid, new energy, Internet plus.

Transformation: from the manufacturer of electrical equipment to the Internet of things company

In 2013, while the electrical equipment business of KE Electric was going smoothly, the company made a bold decision: to change from an electrical equipment manufacturer to "an Internet of things company that provides products and services in the whole industrial chain for global power users".

Zhang thought that the fourth industrial revolution, characterized by artificial intelligence, was quietly coming. Only by aiming at the development direction of cutting-edge technology and integrating the acquisition technology and sensing technology accumulated by KE Electric with Internet of things technology and artificial intelligence technology, could the company seize the opportunity of the new industrial revolution and realize leapfrogging development.

The company has successively built many scientific research institutions, such as the National Enterprise Technology Center, Academician Workstation, Postdoctoral Innovation Practice Base, Research Center of Power Distribution Engineering Technology for Smart Grid.

In cooperation with more than 10 famous domestic scientific research institutes and universities, such as Tsinghua University and North China Electric Power University, KE Electric has developed many operation and maintenance platforms such as "Internet plus distributed photovoltaic power generation monitoring and maintenance platform", "Internet plus electric vehicle charging pile operation cloud platform" and "Internet plus smart park energy control platform".

Among them, in Internet Plus Smart Park Energy Control Platform Project, unattended power distribution system is achieved through real-time monitoring of the operation of power equipment online, combined with offline operation and maintenance service team. It can help customers to carry out professional electrical management and scientific energy efficiency management, formulate energy saving and consumption reduction plan, reduce staff, increase efficiency and improve equipment operation efficiency.

While continuously promoting technological innovation, KE Electric implements business model innovation and management innovation. In Zhang's view, technological innovation is the core, mode innovation is the key, and management innovation is the guarantee. Anyone of the three is indispensable, and the three must be promoted together.

KE Electric has participated in the formulation of more than 10 standards including national standards, industry standards and local standards, and incubated a number of highly skilled enterprises such as "Colin Intellectual Control" and "Colin Cloud Energy".

At present, KE Electric industrial park, with a total investment of 1.572 billion yuan, is about to be put into production. The project covers an area of nearly 0.33 square kilometers and a construction area of about 400,000 square meters. After completion, the output value will be increased by 5.2 billion, and more than 5,000 new social jobs will be created.
