On January 26, 2022, it was learned from Office of the Central Cyberspace Affairs Commission that ten departments including Office of the Central Cyberspace Affairs Commission recently issued Digital Village Development Action Plan (2022-2025) to make deployment and arrangement for digital village development during the 14th Five-year Plan period. The action plan proposes that important progress will be made in the development of digital countryside by 2025.
The action plan deploys eight key aspects, including action to upgrade digital infrastructure, action to innovate and develop smart agriculture, action to develop new business forms and new models, action to improve digital governance capacity, and action to revitalize rural network culture and others.
According to the action plan, the development of digital countryside will make phased progress by 2023. The effectiveness of network assistance has been further consolidated and improved. The Internet penetration rate and network quality in rural areas have been significantly improved and the informatization level of agricultural production has been steadily improved. By 2025, important progress will be made in the development of digital countryside. With the deepening popularization of 4G in rural areas and the innovative application of 5G, the digital transformation of agricultural production and operation has been significantly accelerated, the construction of smart agriculture has achieved preliminary results, many rural e-commerce product brands with high reputation, excellent quality and distinctive characteristics have been cultivated, the rural network culture has prospered and developed, and the rural digital governance system has been improved day by day.
